Languages of Light

by Rohit Yelamanchili

We can find light in spiritual and religious traditions. We can find it in therapy. We can find it in art and music. We can find it in many other places. To believe we have found the only source of light is delusion. It is the root of intolerance and violence. That same conviction that brought us peace becomes destructive.

It makes life simple to believe I have found the only right way. That simplicity comes at a cost. There are other ways. They might work better for someone else. We let others find their own way.

We are saying the same thing in different languages. We can begin to see this when we listen with our hearts. When I hear the truth beyond the words, I no longer fear different teachings will take me away from the light. They bring me closer.
